Sunday Battles tries to make the Fantasy Football experience as enjoyable as possible. There are different contests going on throughout the season to add to the fun. There are NO entry fees needed in any of the contests as all prizes and rewards are included in the initial Fantasy League Entry Fee. You do not have to participate in any of these contests, but it is recommended and encouraged that you do as they are already included in your initial fee and also give you more chances to win... but in the end, its up to you.
There are a total of 5 contests:
- Team of the Week
- NFL Pool Picks
- Survivor Pool
- Last Man Standing
- Battle Royale (nfl playoff contest)
* The Prophet (picks champion for the season thru 17 weeks)
* Top Gun (Highest Scoring Team thru 11 weeks)
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Aside from playing against your opponent every week, your team is also in a contest against the other 31 teams in the league. If your team (starters only) can outscore the other 31 teams in any week, you will be awarded the Team of the Week and claim the prize for that week.
Tie Breakers
In case of a tie for the weekly winner, the team with highest scoring STARTER will break the tie. If still tied, the team with the second highest scoring STARTER will break the tie. This process will continue through all 9 starters until the tie is broken. If all else fails, backups will be used in the same process as a last resort.
End of Season
At the end of the FANTASY regular season, the team with the most points (starters only) will earn the Top Gun honors. In case of a tie for the end of the year winners, the money will be split amongst all the winners tied.
NFL Pool Picks
Every week, owners will pick the winners of every NFL game for that week. You will be awarded 1 point for every correct winner you pick. After all the games are played for the week, your total points will be added up. The team with the MOST points at the end of the regular NFL season will claim the prize for Pool Picks Champion.
Tie Breakers
If tied at the end of the regular NFL season, the money will be split.
Survivor Pool
Every week, owners will pick ONLY ONE NFL team that they are really confident will win that week. If they are correct, then they move on to the next week... otherwise, they are ousted from the contest. The catch is simple. If you pick a team and it wins for you and advances you to the next week, then you can no longer pick that team again throughout the entire contest... so don't think you can pick the Chiefs every week. The last remaining owner will be crowned the Survivor Champ... In case of a tie, the money will be split amongst all the winners tied and the contest will restart again if the contest ends early in the season.
If the survivor contest restarts, it will be considered a second and separate game from the first one. Ties will also be shared as separate games. If two or more people tie, it will be shared amongst those tied in THAT game only.. the Restarted game will be separate.
Failure to submit a pick on time will not allow you to pick teams from the games missed. You can only pick a team whose game has not started. Each pick is worth 1 point.
Last Man Standing
This contest is the opposite of the team of the week. The goal is to avoid being the two lowest scoring teams in any week as there will be TWO teams that get eliminated weekly.
The TWO teams that score the least amount of points (starters only) for the week will be eliminated from the contest and will no longer count towards future weeks.
After week 15, the final two remaining teams still standing will face each other (in week 16) and the lower score of the two will be ousted. The Winner will be crowned The Last Man Standing Champion and will claim the prize.
Tie Breakers
In case of a tie with a 3 or more teams, the highest scoring STARTER of each tied team will be used to break the tie so that ONLY TWO teams will be eliminated. The team with the highest scoring starter will advance and NOT be eliminated.
If by some unforeseen circumstance it is still a tie, then the second highest scoring STARTER will break the tie. This process will continue through all 9 starters until the tie is broken. If all else fails, backups will be used in the same process as a last resort.
BATTLE ROYALE
(NFL Playoff Contest)
This is a tournament played during the NFL playoffs after the Fantasy season is over and the Fantasy Champion has already been determined. All 32 teams compete in a royale rumble type battle.
The object is to draft yourself a team of players and put them up against all other league opponents that are participating every week and outscore them. Every round, half of the participants will be eliminated on a weekly basis based on points scored for that week. Total points throughout playoffs will be used as a tie breaking method.
Every team will consist of players that are playing in the NFL playoffs only. Every week, the teams that advance will start from scratch with no players on their roster and will re-draft players that are in the current week NFL games. So if Green Bay has a bye on the first week of the playoffs, then dont bother drafting Aaron Rodgers for your team since he wont play that week. You can get Rodgers the following week if you want him when he does play.. but thats IF you advance and are not eliminated. Every week is a new week.
There are no restrictions as to who you can pick.. its whoever you feel will do best for you. All 24 teams can pick Rodgers if they want, but I'm sure the other players will be different enough to cause havok.
The Rounds are as follows:
Round 1( 32 teams )
Round 2 ( 16 teams )
Round 3 ( 8 teams )
Championship Round ( 4 teams) highest score wins and is crowned the SB Battle Royale Champion
In case of a tie in the 1st Round, ALL teams that are tied for the final spot will advance and will NOT be eliminated (so its possible to have more than 16 teams in the 2nd Round). For ROUNDS 2 and 3, total NFL Battle Royale playoff points will be added up and used as the tiebreaker method for ALL teams that are tied for the final spot. If they are still tied after total NFL Battle Royale points, then ALL TIED TEAMS will advance. In the FINAL ROUND, Highest score wins. NFL Battle Royale total playoff points will break a tie. If still tied, then the money is shared between the winners.
You will only draft Starters.
Rounds 1 and 2 will consist of:
1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 REC, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 DEF
Round 3 will consist of:
1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 REC, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 DEF
Round 4 will consist of:
1 QB, 1 RB, 2 REC, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 DEF
